C6 OE REPRODUCTION CLEAR TAIL LIGHT LENSES
1 order = 4 Lenses
Lucky Garage USA is proud to present clear OE reproduction tail light lenses for C6 corvette! Made from an anti-yellowing UV protected plastic, these will stay icey for years to come. Please be aware these are LENSES ONLY. You will have to assemble these yourself by taking apart your oem housing. The new lenses will glue on with the RTV. These are incredibly easy to install when compared to the C5. GM used a different glue that melts easily with heat and allows the lenses to separate with little hassle.
FREE SHIPPING TO THE LOWER 48!
Unlike the C5, the C6 has two lenses in its tail light. The red lens, and a clear lens behind it that has a reflector built into it. This reflector will stay in the light, and this new clear lens will go over it. This prevents you from being able to see the tail light bulb.
*INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE - You WILL have to pay for CUSTOMS FEES. Please understand customs fees cannot be avoided, and items will be shipped as IS.

HOW TO INSTALL:
Here's the tools required;
- A heat gun
- A big flat head screw driver
- Gloves
- RTV Sealant ( Black ) or Butyl Tape
- Black Paint Pen *Optional
- A few cold beers and a few hours
Now, if you've got your beers ready, then go ahead and start heating the lens with your heat gun, and just go around the edge, and under the edge for about 2-3 minutes. You want to get this sucker hot. You should be able to smell it.
Next, You'll put on your glove, grab the tail light, and shove your flat head in between the lens and the housing and twist. It may not feel like its budging AT ALL. This is normal, just do it all the way around the lens first and by the time you get half way, it should start to want to give. If it doesn't, continue until you've gone full circle, and then do another round of heat and try again. It can take some time. Some of these go easy, some are hard. There seems to be a change in glue type on the later year C6's that is harder to work with.
Now that you have successfully removed your lens, you're greeted with another inner clear lens. Remove this and cut the specified areas with a knife or some snips. Take your time doing this as, if you're too sloppy with it, you will be able to notice up close.
**TAKE TIME TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS INNER LENS FITS - IT ONLY GOES IN ONE WAY AND LEFT SIDE ONLY WORKS WITH LEFT SIDE. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THIS AS ITS IMPORTANT WHEN ON THE FINAL STEP.**
Once you have completed that, grab your paint pen and color the edge of the tabs. I found that you need to do 2 passes to get good coverage. Paint the top and the back side, and generally it dries pretty quick but be sure before you reassemble the lights. **This is optional, I found it to look more aesthetically pleasing but you do not have to do this.
Now you're in the home stretch! Time to seat the lenses back on! PLEASE make sure you have thoroughly cleaned out any old glue as you will be able to see everything. Wipe down the inside and the lenses with a microfiber and detail spray. Do not use anything else, as this will remove the chroming inside the light housing.
I personally used Butyl tape that I found on amazon for 15 bucks. You can use Black RTV if you wish and do not care about ever taking them back apart again. Do not use anything else, I have had customers crack lenses using the wrong glues. Be very careful.
If you decided to use butyl tape, simply stretch it out to fit into the crack of the housing but make sure its not too thin. It should just barely fit and require decent effort for you to push it in with your finger. Then run a heat gun around the lens for 1-2 minutes heating the butyl until you see it gets really soft and bubbly almost. This is when its ready to have the lens put back on.
*If using RTV, just be sure to use enough that it is just shy of filling in the crack but nothing more.
Now grab your inner lens and place it carefully and quickly. BE SURE it's seated correctly before continuing. Feel free to now add more heat to the butyl before you continue. You really want to make sure its hot. Now place the lens into the housing and put the entire assembly on a hard surface. Keeping your hands at a 9 and 3 position, push down against the lens and complete a full circle. Do this for 2 -3 passes and you're done! You can wrap some tape around the housing and let them cure for 24 hours.
After that, go out and install your awesome new clear tails!
I hope you love them!
